NIST CSF V2.0 Overview – Course Content
This course has the objective of disclosing the requirements of the CSF V2.0 framework,
to enable policies, procedures and organisational changes to be created
& provide guidance on how the CSF V2.0 can be utilised to enhance cyber resilience.
Course Outline:
The course is comprised of the CSF key requirements, plus three case examples are provided.
The CSF core, which retains the five “Functions” from version one is introduced, with detail on the new Governance function being explained.
The introduction therefore maps between what was contained in version one and how it differs in version two and why it matters.
Following the initial overview, the components of the CSF version two: Core, Organizational Profile, and Tiers are described.
The CSF organizational profile creation methodology has five steps and this is discussed, along with an explanation of the Tiers.
The course covers each CSF Function and with the Govern function having an overriding position within the CSF core, this function has a particular focus.
The other functions of Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond and Recover are then worked through to the end of the session.
There should also be a full comprehension of what the CSF V2 is comprised of, along with knowing
how the stages are expressed within the CSF.
The learning objective is to ensure that attendees have a full understanding, albeit with a high-level view, of what each function is comprised of.
